<p><strong><a href="https://www.chanel.com/en_GB/">Chanel</a>’s new campaign ‘Take A New Chance’</strong></p>
<p>After working with the brand since 1990, graphic designer <a href="https://www.jeanpaulgoude.com/en/work/selected-work/dior">Jean-Paul Goude</a> partnered with choreographer <a href="https://www.ryanheffington.com/">Ryan Heffington</a> and musician <a href="https://twitter.com/samspiegeluni?lang=en">Sam Spiegel</a> to create this new digital advertising campaign. The focal point of this release is the <a href="https://www.chanel.com/en_GB/fragrance-beauty/fragrance/p/women/chance-eau-tendre/chance-eau-tendre-eau-de-parfum-spray-p126250.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-tWvyqb33wIVgbTtCh3ezg9PEAQYASABEgJCrPD_BwE#skuid-0126260">new Chance Eau Tendre eau de parfum</a>.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sl3c1EA2xO0">video</a> puts its own spin on the<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bnYpCiwV2Q"> flash mob</a>, using four models and a choreographed dance with chairs to feature the new Chanel product and this is revealed right at the end.</p>
<p>The idea behind the campaign is to promote taking a new chance, just like the models in the video did in their ‘audition’. It’s an interesting concept and fits in well with the recurring mantra circulating the Internet, focussing on chasing your dreams and goals for the future.</p>
<p>This fragrance is a new spin on the original <a href="https://www.chanel.com/en_GB/fragrance-beauty/fragrance/p/women/chance-eau-tendre/chance-eau-tendre-eau-de-toilette-spray-p126310.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIw7Tu9ab33wIVSrftCh2gvggMEAQYASABEgJpKPD_BwE#skuid-0126330">Chance Eau Tendre eau de toilette</a>, but with a more intense and long-lasting feminine and sensual fragrance, as opposed to the original soft, fruity-floral scent.</p>
<p>The original fragrance had a few issues that were brought up by customers, who said that the longevity of the scent was a big concern. It wasn’t lasting well on the skin, and after the <a href="https://www.angelavanrose.com/a-new-version-of-chanel-eau-tendre-launches-in-january-2019/">new eau de parfum</a> was released this month, these issues have been resolved.</p></div>

<p>The name Chāmpo comes from a practice in India referring to cleansing and massaging the head and hair strands. What is interesting too, is that by the 19th Century this practice was introduced to Britain and eventually became shampoo, the hair care product that we know and use regularly today.</p>

<p>For most of us, this is great news, and exactly what needs to happen. The days of faking your ‘insta-fame’ and manipulating brands into thinking your following is genuine are over. Well, at least we hope so! Many of you will be aware of third-party apps that can be utilised to artificially grow your audience, and now Instagram claims that users who employ these tactics will receive a warning letting them know their artificial activity on Instagram has been removed. They also made a statement saying:</p>
<p><em> “Every day people come to Instagram to have real experiences, including genuine interactions. It is our responsibility to ensure these experiences aren’t disrupted by inauthentic activity. Starting today, we will begin removing inauthentic likes, follows and comments from accounts that use third-party apps to boost their popularity. We’ve built machine learning tools to help identify accounts that use these services and remove the inauthentic activity”</em></p>

<p>Charlotte Tilbury has received an MBE for services to the beauty and cosmetics industry, having been named in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in June. Having worked as a make-up artist for over 20 years, Tilbury launched her eponymous brand in 2013 which is now at the forefront of the cosmetics industry. Well done Charlotte!</p>

<p><strong>Top journalists launch beauty ranges</strong></p>
<p>Key beauty insider Alessandra Steinherr has teamed up with Elizabeth Arden to create a make-up bag to carry skincare and beauty essentials. Steinherr commented: “I am always on-the-go and I like to carry my daily essentials with me, so I need a roomy beauty bag that isn’t too bulky”.</p>
<p>Joining the beauty collab trend, Vogue contributor Funmi Fetto announced the launch of The Beauty Box for AW18. Inside is a curated selection of the journalist’s favourite beauty products, including Estee Lauder, Clinique and Bobbi Brown.</p>
<p>Journalists are becoming more and more multifaceted, tapping into every element of the beauty industry. It will be interesting to see what’s next for our top beauty editors.<br />

<p><strong>Louise Thompson stung by the ASA</strong></p>
<p>The Advertising Standards Authority have banned an Instagram Story by Made in Chelsea star Louise Thompson after she didn’t make it clear she had been paid to promote its content.</p>
<p>Thompson’s Instagram Story, published in May, featured a video of her using a facial brush product from Vanity Planet Store.</p>
<p>Thompson claimed that she was unaware of the need to include #ad on the Story, since her followers would have been aware that she had been paid from the context of the post. The ASA pointed out that, despite the invitation for users to ‘swipe up’ and receive a discount, it was not obvious whether the post was independent editorial content, sponsored editorial content or advertising.</p>
<p>Guy Parker, the ASA&#8217;s chief executive has previously said that people shouldn’t have to play the detective to work out if they’re being advertised to.<br />
